The Emerging Artist Workshop Series

The WDPAC is bringing the most talented local artists to teach a limited series of Master Classes in unique theatrical disciplines. From dancing to clowning, and singing to improv, develop skills to enhance your own artistic endeavors!

Teaching groups chosen are from local theatre companies that perform right here in Central Florida! You will see them on local stages, in theme parks and in popular festivals. Learn from local masters who can guide and mentor you to success in the Florida industry!

Classes are designed for all levels, ages 14 through adult.

Beginners and experts will all walk away with new or better polished skills!

All classes take place at the WDPAC Rehearsal Annex - 201 S. Magnolia Ave, Sanford, FL, 32771.

January Series: Choreographing Art

presented by Phantasmagoria

January 8, 2018 - 4-7pm

Belly dance is an inspiring outlet for creative expression as well as a dynamic form of exercise. In this workshop, we will cover some of the basic isolations of belly dance and build fun and stimulating combinations to take home and further your movement practice. All sizes and levels are welcome- previous dance experience is a plus, but not required. Challenge mind and body, and shimmy your cares away! Serafina Schiano has been studying &performing Belly Dance for 9 years, teaching for 6. She has been Belly Dancing for Phantasmagoria for 8 years now, and in 2016 developed, choreographed, and was primary dancer in “Phases” at the Lowndes Shakespeare Center


January 15, 2018 - 4-7pm

Ensemble and collaboration is the core of any theatrical production. This class will explore a variety of exercise, each building upon each other, to help create a strong ensemble and physically collaborative thinking and instincts. From the very basics of movement through space, to group games and exercises, sculptural creations, explorations of speed, space, time and visual construction, all students will go away with freshly explored instincts essential to the theatrical arts.

John DiDonna is the creator and director of Phantasmagoria and the Program Chair of Theater for Valencia College in Orlando. Dion Leonhard DiDonna is a professional en pointe Ballet Dancer who is a choreographer, Barre/Pilates and Dance instructor. Both have been with Phantasmagoria for 8 years.



January 22, 2018 - 4-7pm

Introduction to stage combat. This workshop will focus on the basic building blocks and theory of stage violence. There will be a strong emphasis on safety and story telling while living the moment. Skills that actors need to have to build the very foundation of their art and craft.

Bill Warriner has been a professional Stage Combat Director for 27 years and is the resident Combat Director for Phantasmagoria for the last 8 years.
